Call for Papers

The 14th EuroSEAS conference will be held at the Complutense University of Madrid, from 1-3 September 2026 with an optional excursion or participation in a post-conference associated event on 4 September 2026.

As an international and multi-disciplinary scholarly organization, EuroSEAS invites scholars and PhD students from all academic disciplines with an interest in Southeast Asia to present a paper in one of the selected panels or to participate in one of the other formats (see list below) at the EuroSEAS conference in Madrid. The selection committee has accepted 90 panels, laboratories, roundtables & film screenings + discussions.

EuroSEAS wishes to promote diversity in every form. Panel conveners are urged to pay attention to diversity when selecting papers for their laboratories, panels or roundtables.

Deadline paper abstract submission: 10 April 2026
Conference dates: 1-3 September 2026 (optional: excursion or participation in a post-conference associated event on 4 September 2026)
Venue: Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.

Interested in presenting a paper in a panel or participating in another format?

If you want to participate in a panel or other format, please register and submit your proposal through our Conference System.

You must submit your paper proposal to your selected panel (which will appear in the drop-down menu) by 10 April 2026. If you would like more information about a panel, please contact the convenors directly (not the EuroSEAS secretariat), whose email address you can find in the list of accepted panels & other formats.

Conveners

Conveners must review and decide which proposals to accept via the Conference System Evaluation Portal. In addition, they should inform the EuroSEAS secretariat (euroseas@kitlv.nl) by email of the abstracts/proposals they have accepted by 24 April 2026.

30 April 2026: Deadline Early-bird registration fee
