ASEF

 The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) was established in February 1997 under the framework of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) process. ASEF seeks to promote mutual understanding, deeper engagement and continuing collaboration among the people of Asia and Europe through greater intellectual, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges between the two regions.

NIAS

NIAS was founded as an independent Asian studies institute in 1968. In partnership with the Nordic Council of Ministers we have maintained a commitment throughout to contribute to the development of Asian studies in the Nordic region. The Nordic Council of Ministers remains our main financier.

IIAS

The International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) is a postdoctoral research centre based in Leiden and Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Its objective is to encourage the interdisciplinary and comparative study of Asia and promote national and international cooperation. The institute focuses on the human and social sciences and on their interaction with other sciences.

SEALG

SEALG is one of a number of library groups together covering the whole of Asia and reporting to the National Council on Orientalist Library Resources (NCOLR). Its origins, and the origins of at least some of the other groups, go back to a Conference on the Acquisition of Library Materials from Asia, held at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London in 1967.

Digital Library of Manuscripts

The National Library of Laos is pleased to announce the Digital Library of Lao Manuscripts (DLLM), a web application which will make images of almost 12,000 texts from throughout Laos easily accessible for study.
